Dan Amos is chairman and chief executive officer of Aflac Incorporated. He is one of the longest-serving CEOs in the Fortune 200, and his innovative leadership style has led to astounding annual revenue growth from $2.7 billion in 1990 to $22.1 billion in 2020. Dan joined Aflac in 1973, working in sales for 10 years. In 1983, he was named president of Aflac and was later promoted to chief operating officer in 1987. Mr. Bowers has been chairman and chief executive officer of Georgia Power, the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, a gas and electricity utility holding company, since 2011. He also served as president of Georgia Power until November 2020, at which time he announced his plans to retire in 2021. Before that, Mr. Bowers served as chief financial officer of Southern Company from 2008 to 2010. Previously, he served in various senior executive positions across Southern Company in Southern Company Generation, Southern Power, and the company’s former U.K. subsidiary, where he was president and chief executive officer of South Western Electricity LLC/Western Power Distribution.
Mr. Bowers brings to the Board a valuable and unique perspective from his considerable financial knowledge; national and international business experience, including experience in Japan and operating in a highly regulated industry; and expertise in corporate development and managing the evolving risks associated with cyber security.
President and CEO, Chuo Real Estate Co., Ltd
Mr. Fukuzawa has been the president and chief executive officer of Chuo Real Estate Co., Ltd., a real estate development and leasing company in Japan, since July 2018. Previously, he was the president and chief executive officer of Yushu Tatemono Co., Ltd., also a real estate development and leasing company in Japan, from June 2015 to June 2018. He served as deputy president at Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. from April 2013 to March 2015, managing executive officer and head of the IT System Group at Mizuho Bank Ltd. from June 2011 to March 2013, and deputy president at Mizuho Information & Research Institute from June 2009 to June 2011. From 2002 to 2009, he held executive officer and general manager positions at Mizuho Bank, Ltd., part of Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. Mr. Fukuzawa held various positions of increasing responsibility at Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank, Ltd., which he joined in 1979.
Over a 36-year career as a professional banker in Japan, Mr. Fukuzawa gained extensive business and IT knowledge and experience with a wide range of Japanese financial services institutions, including insurance companies. He provides the Board with valuable insight and expertise relevant to the Company’s Japanese business.
Former Partner and Co-Head of Global Fixed Income, Goldman Sachs Asset Management
Mr. Kenny has served as a trustee of TIAA-CREF, a financial services organization, since 2011. He currently serves as the Chair of the TIAA-CREF Funds Board of Trustees, previously served as Chair of the Investment Committee, and also currently sits on the TIAA-CREF Funds Audit, Investment and Nominating and Governance Committees. Prior to his role at TIAA-CREF, Mr. Kenny held a variety of leadership positions at Goldman Sachs for twelve years, most recently serving as partner and advisory director. He also served as co-head of the Global Cash and Fixed Income Portfolio team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was responsible for overseeing the management of more than $600 billion in assets across multiple strategies with teams in London, Tokyo, and New York. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Kenny spent thirteen years at Franklin Templeton. He is a CFA charter holder.
Mr. Kenny’s extensive experience in investment management and financial markets provides the Board with valuable insight and expertise.
Operating Executive, The Carlyle Group
Ms. Kiser is an Operating Executive at The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset management firm, where she advises CARLYLE professionals through the investment process, from sourcing deals, conducting diligence, managing companies and exiting transactions. She also helps set IT strategy for Carlyle Portfolio companies and drives IT / digital diligence and advisory efforts. Ms. Kiser was a managing director and chief information officer at The Carlyle Group, where she was responsible for leading the firm’s global technology and solutions organization from February 2015 until May 2019. In this role, Ms. Kiser developed and drove information technology strategies across the global enterprise, which includes the firm’s application development, data, digital, infrastructure, cyber security, and program management and outsourcing activities. Prior to joining The Carlyle Group, Ms. Kiser held positions of increasing responsibility at T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., also a global alternative asset management firm, from 1996 to 2015, including the role of vice president, Enterprise Solutions and Capabilities within the services and technology organization.
Throughout Ms. Kiser’s three-plus decade career, she has established extensive experience and success developing and leading talented teams to deliver decision support systems and technical solutions, including cyber security, for financial services firms. She has consistently been recognized for bringing credibility to solutions and technical organizations in addition to building strong business partnerships, leveraging human and technical resources, implementing investment and customer management systems, and producing advanced data management solutions.
Certified Public Accountant and Retired Ernst & Young LLP Audit Partner
Ms. Lloyd is a certified public accountant and retired as vice chair and regional managing partner for Ernst & Young, LLP (“EY”), a global accounting firm, in December 2016. She brings more than 37 years of work experience and leadership, most recently as part of the US Executive Board, Americas Operating Executive and the Global Practice Group for EY, and has extensive experience in the audits of large financial services, insurance, and health care companies. Ms. Lloyd served many of EY’s highest profile clients through mergers, IPOs, acquisitions, divestitures, and across numerous industries including banking, insurance, consumer products, transportation, real estate, manufacturing, and retail. She has served as an audit partner for publicly held companies in both the United States and Canada. Ms. Lloyd’s other experience includes leadership and consulting with respect to financial reporting, board governance and legal matters, regulatory compliance, internal audit, and risk management.
Ms. Lloyd’s extensive accounting and advisory experience across the financial service industry, combined with her leadership skills and strategic thinking, provide valuable perspective for our Audit and Risk Committee.
Representative Director, Japan Financial and Economic Research Co. Ltd.
Mr. Nobuchika Mori is representative director of the Japan Financial and Economic Research Co. Ltd., a research and consulting firm. In this role, he has been responsible for providing research and consulting services to companies in Japan and abroad since July 2018. He is currently also an adjunct professor and senior research scholar at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (since October 2018). From July 2015 until his retirement in July 2018, Mr. Mori served as commissioner of the Financial Services Agency of Japan (the “JFSA”), Japan’s integrated financial regulator. In this role, he led supervision of financial institutions including banks, securities firms and insurance companies, and directed legislative and regulatory planning to ensure financial stability and enhance economic growth in Japan. Before becoming the head of JFSA, he spent more than 30 years in senior positions at JFSA and Japan’s Ministry of Finance (the “MOF”), including JFSA Vice Commissioner for Policy Coordination, Director General for Inspection, and Director General for Supervision (July 2014 to July 2015). He also served in a range of diplomatic posts reflecting his expertise in international financial markets and regulatory standards, including as the Chief Representative in New York for the MOF, Minister of the Embassy of Japan in the United States of America, and as Deputy Treasurer at the Inter-American Development Bank.
Over a three-plus decade career immersed in Japan’s finance industry as a financial regulator, policymaker, and standard setter in Japan and internationally, Mr. Mori gained extensive specialized economic, policy, and financial regulatory expertise, knowledge and experience. He brings to the Board indispensable, significant insight with respect to the Company’s Japanese business operations from his considerable financial and economic knowledge, international business experience, and regulatory acumen spanning highly regulated industries in Japan and internationally.
Retired Executive Vice President, Primerica, Inc.
Mr. Moskowitz retired from Primerica, Inc., an insurance and investments company, where he served as executive vice president from 2009 until 2014, leading the Product Economics and Financial Analysis Group. He joined Primerica in 1988, and served in various capacities, including managing the group responsible for financial budgeting, capital management support, earnings analysis, and analyst and stockholder communications support. He served as chief actuary from 1999 to 2004. Before joining Primerica, Mr. Moskowitz was vice president of Sun Life Insurance Company from 1985 to 1988 and was a senior manager at KPMG from 1979 to 1985.
With 40 years of actuarial experience and leadership roles in the financial services industry, Mr. Moskowitz provides insight into the analysis and evaluation of actuarial and financial models, which form the basis of various aspects of corporate planning, financial reporting, and risk assessment, to the Board.
Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor, Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Dr. Rimer has been dean of the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health since 2005, and alumni distinguished professor since 2003. Previously, she was director of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute. She is a former director of Cancer Control Research and professor of community and family medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. She was elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2008.
At the Gillings School of Public Health, Dr. Rimer works to improve public health, promote individual well-being, and eliminate health inequities across North Carolina and around the world. In 2012, Dr. Rimer was appointed Chairman of the President’s Cancer Panel and was reappointed twice since then. Her insight and leadership with respect to the public health sector are extremely relevant to the Company’s business and operations.
Vice Provost Emeritus, Princeton University
Dr. Rohrer is vice provost emeritus, Princeton University, having served as vice provost for Academic Programs from 2001 until 2015. Prior to assuming this role, starting in 1988, Dr. Rohrer held several senior leadership positions at Princeton University, including associate dean of the faculty and assistant dean of the college. Following her retirement, she served as interim associate dean of the graduate school in 2016-17. At Columbia University, she was an assistant professor from 1982 to 1988. Dr. Rohrer is also a trustee of Emory University, where she chairs the academic affairs committee and serves on the finance and executive committees.
With more than 30 years as a university leader, Dr. Rohrer brings a wealth of experience highlighted by a commitment to academic rigor and financial management. Her operational expertise includes: executing on institutional budgetary decisions; leading academic governance and priority setting; spearheading the recruitment of deans and other senior academic administrators; developing university-level messaging and communications; and managing endowments. Dr. Rohrer’s management career has included a focus on social responsibility, inclusion, and diversity.
Dean Emeritus of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University
Dr. Stith is dean emeritus of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, having served as dean from 2005 until 2013. Recently, Dr. Stith served as interim president of Norfolk State University from January 2018 to June 2019. Prior to assuming this role, Dr. Stith was the dean emeritus and the Jim Moran Professor of Business Administration at Florida State University for thirteen years. He has been a professor of marketing and business since 1977 following his service as a captain in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Command.
Dr. Stith’s financial acumen and his leadership skills in consensus-building, risk management, and executive management add an important dimension to the composition of our Board.

Fred Crawford joined Aflac in 2015 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. As chief financial officer of Aflac Incorporated, Fred was responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the financial management of company operations.
With nearly three decades of financial and leadership experience, Fred was promoted to president and chief operating officer of Aflac Incorporated in January 2020. In this expanded role, he is responsible for leading a number of areas that are pivotal to Aflac Incorporated’s growth and long-term success, including executing enterprise growth initiatives; transforming the enterprise by leveraging digital growth and efficiency initiatives; driving ESG initiatives across the enterprise; delivering on key strategic initiatives that achieve expected returns on investment; and ensuring the financial stability and strength of Aflac Incorporated, with oversight of finance, risk and investments operations in Japan and the U.S.
Prior to joining Aflac, Fred served most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer of CNO Financial Group. Prior to that, he worked for more than a decade at the Lincoln Financial Group in roles of progressive responsibility, including executive vice president and chief financial officer, in addition to leading Corporate Development and Investments. Before joining the Lincoln Financial Group, Fred held leadership positions at Bank One Corporation.
Living in Columbus, Fred and his wife, Priscilla, are active in the community. Fred serves on the board of trustees and the finance and investment committee of the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley. Priscilla serves as chairman of the board of advisors of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
Fred received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa, where he currently serves on the advisory board of its Tippie College of Business.
Executive Vice President; Chief Financial Officer, Aflac Incorporated
Max Brodén joined Aflac as senior vice president and treasurer in April 2017. He was promoted to deputy chief financial officer in May of 2019 and to chief financial officer in January of 2020, where he is responsible for leading enterprise-wide corporate development, investor and rating agency relations, corporate finance, enterprise capital management and financial planning and analysis. Max also oversees the company’s efforts to engage investors and rating agencies on a range of issues including the company’s financial performance and corporate governance activities, as well as strategic partnerships and planning.
Prior to joining Aflac, he served as senior portfolio manager for Norges Bank, managing an equity portfolio of diversified global financial and insurance stocks. He also worked for several years at DnB Nor Asset Management in Stockholm and New York and Skandia Asset Management in Stockholm.
Max holds a Master of Science in both accounting and finance from Stockholm School of Economics. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Chairman and Representative Director, Aflac Life Insurance Japan; President, Aflac International
Charles Lake joined Aflac International in February 1999 and Aflac Japan in June 1999. He became Aflac Japan deputy president in 2001, president in 2003, vice chairman in 2005, and chairman in 2008. In 2014, he also assumed the position of president, Aflac International. Before joining Aflac, Charles practiced law in Washington, D.C. and served as director of Japan affairs and special counsel at the office of the U.S. Trade Representative in the Executive Office of the President. He currently serves as an independent outside director on the boards of Japan Post Holdings Co. Ltd. and Tokyo Electron Ltd. Charles served ten years as an outside director on the board of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is president emeritus of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ). He also serves as a director on the board of the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the U.S.-Japan Business Council. In 2018, Charles was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by the Emperor of Japan for his contributions to the development of Japan’s insurance and financial services industries and strengthening U.S.-Japan economic relations. Charles received a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies and political science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University School of Law.
President and Representative Director, Aflac Life Insurance Japan
Masatoshi Koide originally joined Aflac in November 1998 and stayed with Aflac until March 2006. He worked for Nikko Asset Management before he joined Aflac again in December 2008 as vice president. He was promoted to senior vice president in January 2012 and to first senior vice president in July 2013.
In January 2015, he was promoted to executive vice president, Planning, Government Affairs and Research, Corporate Communications, Legal, Risk Management, Investment, Compliance, Customer Services, and General Affairs. In July 2016, he was promoted to deputy president, Aflac Japan. He assumed the role of president and chief operating officer of Aflac Japan in July 2017.
He graduated from Tokyo University in 1984 and from Cornell Law School in 1989. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
President, Aflac U.S.
Teresa White is a veteran in the financial services industry with two decades of experience. Currently serving as president of Aflac U.S., Teresa is a visionary leader with a proven track record of augmenting operations, driving revenue, ensuring equal pay for equal work, and fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce. She has created effective business and leadership strategies across multiple organizations to achieve corporate targets and has extensive experience increasing operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience and utilizing technology to enable growth.
Recognized as an expert in her field, Teresa is responsible for creating the vision of Aflac U.S. and driving execution of long-term strategy while strengthening the growth and value proposition of Aflac U.S. Under Teresa’s leadership, Aflac U.S. is reshaping its internal processes to respond to the changing dynamics in the marketplace. She is leveraging technology innovation, strategic partnerships and corporate development to bring solutions, tools and services that consumers, employers, and brokers want and need.
Teresa is passionate about employee development, as she knows this is a cornerstone to her strategy for future growth. This is demonstrated in the investments Aflac U.S. is making into employee upskilling — talent assessments, partnerships with colleges and universities for skill certifications, and workspace enhancement such as agile spaces and data command centers. Through this holistic strategy, Teresa plans to both maintain Aflac’s culture and drive the organization to become more agile and efficient in a digital future.

Executive Vice President and Global Chief Investment Officer; President, Aflac Global Investments
Eric Kirsch joined Aflac in November 2011 as first senior vice president; global chief investment officer and was promoted to executive vice president in July 2012. In January 2018, Eric’s role expanded, and he was named president of Aflac Global Investments, the asset management subsidiary of Aflac Incorporated. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s investment efforts including Aflac’s investment portfolio and its investment teams in the United States and Japan.
Prior to joining Aflac, he served as managing director and global head of insurance asset management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he managed a global team of 55 professionals and oversaw the management of over $70 billion of insurance assets across the United States, Europe and Asia.
Prior to that, he spent 27 combined years at Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) and Bankers Trust Company, most recently serving as managing director and global head of insurance asset management. At DeAM Eric was responsible for a staff of more than 100 people and managing over $150 billion in insurance assets across the globe. He also served as a member of the Global Operating Committee of DeAM.
Prior to that, he served as managing director and head of North America Fixed Income, responsible for more than $150 billion of assets across multiple fixed income investment strategies. He also previously served as vice president and stable value portfolio manager at Bankers Trust Company.
Throughout his career, Eric has been responsible for the full array of investment grade and high yield fixed income strategies, money markets, loans, municipals, equities and alternatives. Eric received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University in 1988. He earned his CFA designation in 1990. Eric also serves as a trustee of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation and the Baruch College Fund and is on the board of Kuvare.

Audrey Boone Tillman, executive vice president and general counsel of Aflac Incorporated, directs Aflac’s Legal division and functions related to Compliance, Government Relations, Federal Relations, State Government Relations, Corporate Communications, and the office of the Corporate Secretary, including oversight functions of the General Counsel and Compliance offices at Aflac Japan, where the company earns more than 75 percent of its revenues.
Audrey joined Aflac in 1996 as a member of the Legal Department and was promoted to vice president in 2000. Her work as legal counsel to the Human Resources division led to her promotion to senior vice president of Human Resources in August 2001 and then to executive vice president of Corporate Services in 2008. She was promoted to General Counsel in May 2014.
During her tenure, the company has received multiple honors, including Fortune’s World's Most Admired Companies for the 20th time, Ethisphere’s World's Most Ethical Companies for 15 consecutive years and Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index for the second consecutive year. Aflac has been recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as one of its 40 Best Companies for Diversity 11 times and has appeared 21 times on LATINA Style magazine’s annual list of The 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work in the U.S.
Audrey has received numerous awards and accolades during her career at Aflac. Most recently, she was named to Black Enterprise magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Business list for the third consecutive year and Women’s Inc.’s Top Corporate Counsel list in 2019. She also received the Meritorious Public Service Medal awarded by the Department of the United States Army in 2020.
Before joining Aflac, Audrey served as an associate professor at North Carolina Central University School of Law. Prior to that, she worked in private practice and also served as a federal judicial law clerk with the U.S. District Court for North Carolina.
Audrey received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law. She is a member of the state bars of Georgia, North Carolina and the District of Columbia. Audrey serves on the board of directors for Equifax, Inc. and is involved in many local initiatives to improve the community in and around the Columbus, Ga. area. She is also a Diamond Life Member of the Columbus Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Director, Executive Vice President; Chief Financial Officer, Aflac Life Insurance Japan
Todd Daniels is responsible for overseeing the financial, actuarial and risk management practices of Aflac Life Insurance Japan. In addition, he assists the president in product development and corporate development.
Todd joined Aflac in 2002 as an actuarial assistant and held positions of increasing responsibility within the Actuarial Department, including second vice president; associate actuary. He was promoted to vice president, Financial Planning and Analysis in 2011, where he assumed responsibility for Aflac’s financial planning and corporate modeling. In 2012, he was promoted to senior vice president; deputy corporate actuary. He assumed the responsibilities of global chief risk officer in January 2014 and the additional role of chief actuary in December 2015. In May 2016, he was promoted to executive vice president; global chief risk officer and chief actuary.
Prior to joining Aflac, Todd served as an actuarial associate for Liberty National Life.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Auburn University. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Director, Executive Vice President; Director of Sales and Marketing, Aflac Life Insurance Japan
Koji Ariyoshi joined Aflac as senior vice president, responsible for sales planning in October 2008. From January through March 2009, he was directly in charge of the Retail Marketing, Alliance Management and Hojinkai Promotion Departments. From April through December 2009, he oversaw all the marketing and sales departments as deputy director of Sales and Marketing. He was promoted to first senior vice president and director of Sales and Marketing in January 2010. He was promoted to his current role in January 2012.
Before joining Aflac, he worked for Alico Japan as vice president and AXA Life Insurance as senior vice president. He graduated from Ritsumeikan University in 1978.
Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, Aflac Life Insurance Japan
Yoko Kijima joined Aflac in 1986, engaging in insurance premium billing and collecting operations in the Premium Accounting Department. In 1995, she was involved in setting up the call center and later was engaged in companywide customer satisfaction promotion operations before being promoted to manager in 2001. She was promoted to general manager of the Administration Planning Department in 2006 and was appointed vice president, serving as general manager of the Policy Administration Planning Department in January 2012. She was engaged in insurance policy administration operations from the time she joined Aflac until the end of 2014. In January 2015, she was appointed compliance officer with responsibility for the Corporate Division. She was promoted to senior vice president in January 2017, to first senior vice president in July 2018 and to executive vice president in January 2020. She graduated from Jissen Women’s University in 1986.

Virgil Miller joined Aflac in 2004 in the Policy Service Department after working in leadership in the property and casualty industry. He was promoted to positions of increasing responsibility including second vice president of Client Services, Policy Service and the Customer Service Center and vice president of Client Services, Customer Assurance and Aflac’s Transformation Office.
In 2015, Virgil was promoted to senior vice president of Internal Operations and later named chief administrative officer, head of Aflac Group. He was promoted to president of Aflac Group in January 2018, where he led the strategic leadership and overall direction of operations at Aflac Group as well as operations and digital services for Aflac U.S. In his current role, Virgil is responsible for leading the U.S. teams driving individual benefits, including the U.S. independent career sales agent distribution team, consumer markets, service and administration, analytics, quality assurance, business services and Communicorp, Aflac’s wholly owned marketing and printing solutions subsidiary.
Virgil served as a U.S. Marine and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgia College and a master’s degree in business management from Wesleyan College. He serves on the board of trustees for Claflin University, the Palmetto Business Forum, the Prisma Health Foundation Board of Trustees and the Columbia Urban League. He is also the current co-chair of the 2019 SEUS-Japan Association.
Executive Vice President; President of Group Benefits Division
Rich Williams joined Aflac in 2017 as executive vice president and chief distribution officer, responsible for overseeing Aflac U.S. growth, including development and execution of the long-term growth strategy of Aflac U.S, and leading key growth areas of distribution, product development, enrollment and account management. In his current role, he is responsible for leading the growth strategy and business development of Aflac’s group division, including broker distribution, service and administration, analytics, quality assurance and Aflac’s newly acquired business of Aflac Dental and Vision and Aflac Group Life, Absence, and Disability.
Prior to joining Aflac, he was senior vice president and general manager, Stop Loss, at Unum, U.S. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, Growth Markets at Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company. He also held various positions of increasing responsibility with Strategic Resource Company (an Aetna company). Rich began his career as an actuary in 1998 with William M. Mercer Inc.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from Wofford College and a Master of Arts from Wake Forest University. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Executive Vice President; Assistant to Director of Sales and Marketing, Aflac Life Insurance Japan
Prior to joining Aflac Japan in 2021, Koichiro Yoshizumi served in leadership positions with a number of financial institutions, most recently with Manulife Life Insurance Company, which he joined in 2007. At Manulife, he served in senior management roles including as president and CEO from 2018. He graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in 1985.
